International Year of the Family

Singapore welcomes the International Year of the Family. In line with this, MSF (Ministry of Social and Family Development) have created series of activities and events to promote family relationship. The family is the basic unit of society and it is only right to empower them. It is good if you participate and bring the whole family because you can benefit from it. As a start, you can look forward to the following activities and events:

Chingay Parade

The Chingay parade is an annual event here in Singapore. It is anticipated by all people. MSF will use this parade to bring awareness to all people especially when it comes to family relationships. There will be a special float for the International Year of the Family.

Social Media Campaigns

Apart from the Chingay parade, MSF is looking into bringing more awareness to the people by using the social media. Social media campaigns will be launched specifically during special occasions and Public Holidays.

Speed Dating

Singles should never feel isolated because they can take part in the International Year of the Family. MSF is thinking about speed dating. The event will give opportunities for singles to find and meet their partners. If the singles decide to push the relationship further, they are free to do so.

These are just a few. If you want to know more about family-themed activities and events, you can get an update at iyf2014.sg. The series of activities and events are made possible with the help of grassroots organizations.
